The Long Island Museum

The Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages is well worth taking the time to do this if you are in the area. The art gallery is wonderful but the carriage section is the best. It has to be the biggest collection of carriages anywhere in the world and transports you to a bygone era - it is most charming!

The Reboli Center for Art and History

64 Main St, Stony Brook, NY 11790, USA
(631) 751-7707

The Jazz Loft is a real gem, with a wide variety of music. Founded by Long Islander Tom Manuel, you can see everything from top flight guitarists to big band music, all in a very pleasant cabaret setting in Stony Brook's lovely old refurbished stone firehouse. Light food and drinks are available and the setting is intimate with great acoustics.
